Comments and drawing
Leave comments on a passage of a note, reply and resolve them, and draw freehand shapes, arrows and text over the page.

A comment is a remark in the margin: a question to come back to, a doubt about a figure, an idea for later. It sits next to the text without changing it. Drawing Mode goes further: it lets you circle, underline and sketch right over the page.
Add a comment
- Select the words you want to comment on.
- Click Add comment in the bubble that appears next to the selection, or in the toolbar.
- Type your comment in the bar that opens above the text.
- Press
Enter, or click Apply.
Esc closes the bar without saving. You need a selection: with no words selected, there is nothing to attach the comment to.
The commented words stay marked in the text, and a Comments section appears in the right panel.
Each comment shows its author (the name of your profile), its date and its text. The counter gives the number of comments still open.
Reply, resolve, react
On each comment:
- Reply adds an answer under it;
- Resolve marks it as dealt with, Reopen brings it back;
- React adds an emoji;
- Delete removes it.
Resolved comments are hidden. Show resolved displays them again, Hide resolved hides them.
Comments are saved in the note: they follow it on your devices when your notes sync.

Draw on a note
- Click Drawing Mode in the toolbar.
- Pick a tool in the drawing bar.
- Draw over the page.

With Select, click a shape to pick it, and drag it to move it. Then:
- Fill color fills a shape, No fill empties it;
- Duplicate (
Ctrl+D) copies it; - Delete (
Delete) removes it.
Undo (Ctrl+Z) removes the last shape added. It only acts on the drawing: to undo a change in the text of the note, leave Drawing Mode first.
Click Drawing Mode in the toolbar again to go back to writing. The drawing is saved with the note and stays visible over it.
On a wide window, the drawing area stops before the right end of the lines: a shape drawn there is cut off.
Write on the drawing
With Text, click where the words should go, type them, then click elsewhere or press Esc.
Before you pick this tool, make sure no block of the note is selected (a table, a database, an image). Then check that your words appear on the drawing. If they went into the note instead, leave Drawing Mode and press Ctrl+Z to take them back out.
