Why a one-time payment instead of a subscription?
We believe you should pay once for software and own it. BYOS and Enterprise plans use a perpetual license model: you pay once, you keep the software forever, updates included.
What is BYOS (Bring Your Own Storage)?
BYOS lets you use your own storage backend (Amazon S3, MinIO, Backblaze B2, or any S3-compatible service). Filarr encrypts your files locally and sends them to your storage. You keep total control of your infrastructure.
Is the Free plan really free with no hidden limits?
Yes. The Free plan includes full encryption, file preview, CLI, and 3-platform support. The only limits are local storage (5 GB) and no cloud sync. No ads, no data selling, ever.
Can I switch between plans?
Absolutely. You can upgrade at any time. If you switch from a monthly subscription to a BYOS perpetual license, we’ll calculate a pro-rata credit for your remaining subscription.
What happens if I cancel my Personal subscription?
Your files stay encrypted on your device. You lose access to cloud sync, but you can still access and export all local files. No data is ever deleted.
How does per-seat pricing work for Enterprise plans?
Each seat is one user. It’s a one-time payment per seat — no annual renewals. You can add seats at any time at the same unit price.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits and education?
Yes. Nonprofits, educational institutions, and open source projects get 50% off all paid plans. Contact us with proof of eligibility.
What’s included in priority support?
Priority support includes a guaranteed 4-hour response time on weekdays, a direct channel to our engineering team, and deployment and configuration assistance. Enterprise BYOS includes a formal SLA.
